Critical Issue: Hack attacks mounted on car control systems
The computer systems used to control modern cars are very vulnerable to attack, say experts.
Information Technology: All modern cars today are equipped with computers that have about 100MB of bianary code spread across the car in approximately 70 electronic control units (ECU’s). The information passes from the controls the driver puts in and that then tells the car what to do through the computers. The hackers of the cars insert fake packets of data that can take control of the car while giving fake readings to the driver making it seem like they are still in control.
Potential Solution: This problem is not yet a part of our lives but it could be in the near future which is why the researchers are conducting tests on it before it happens. “This represents an opportunity to head off a problem before it starts, in the not-too-distant future it may represent a real risk to life.” Rik Ferguson Trend Micro

Creating!!! Using Photoshop 5/13

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 4:18 pm and

I will be making a series of photos (3-5) that I took from when I was younger that had some serious flaws in them. I will then bring them in to try to perfect them using photoshop. I will post them in a blog and write a brief explanation of each of them with the before and after.

1. Gather pictures and bring them in
2. Watch each tutorial that makes sense to me
3. Use what I know to fix each picture
4. Keep track of what I do to each picture
5. Post them in my blog

1. That silicon is the bases for the chips

2. The fabrication center is called a fab

3. There are millions of transistors on a chip

4. Manufacture of Microprocessors

5. I had never heard of a wafer before except the vanilla cookie type

6. Bunny Suits are the space looking suits that must be worn

7. The fab clean rooms are I think 1000x cleaner than a hospital surgery room

8. Aluminum layers of metal are on the wafers

9. They call whats on the chip a skyscraper or a city

10. UV light is the light that is used on the silicon wafers to expose the patterns

11. Binary is complicated but without it computers wouldn’t exist

12. Moore’s Law actually turned out to be true

13. The microprocessors are protectively packaged and can be connected to other devices

14. Hundreds of microprocessors are made on a single wafer

15. The success rate of the microprocessors must be in the ninety percentile in order for the design to continue into production

16. In order to be get each microprocessor off the wafer, it is etched and then has weight put over it

17. Each layer of the microprocessor is like glass or was in 1994, now is more like Jell-O

18. Silicon is a primary component of sand

19. Gold wire is used to connect the chip to its packaging

20. Analog is a thing of the past

I am near completion of my website. I’m not sure if it needs real information or just my best guess as to when meets would be.

So far the website is going well, however, it can be somewhat confusing at times. I used a template that was already there for swimming which was both helpful and annoying. It’s useful because it gives me the layout which I can just edit. It is annoying because there is pre-exisiting information from whoever made the template about their swim team which I have to go through delete one by one. I’m still figuring out how I want to organize the times. I need to gather those times so that is the next step.

At this point I have surveyed my end users. However, I’m not sure if a creating a website is the best bet or if I should create something like a blog that can post the times of the swimmers that will be more user friendly. For the website I need to develop good web site construction skills. For this, the website needs to be something that can be easily edited because it will have to be edited often, probably by someone who has mediocre computer skills. Being so, the website will need to be a simple one. The purpose is not to be pretty but to spread the information. To do this any computer with the Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 software will work well. I have no idea how to create a blog so that would be something I need to learn if i decided to opt for that as well as which blog to use.
